Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been at the forefront of COVID-19 testing and enabling sporting events around the world. Click To Tweet
Since the start of the pandemic, we have been on the front line of COVID-19 testing and diagnosis.
The tests first appeared as a mechanism to detect the presence of the virus to seek the necessary medical attention before symptoms worsened. Then, they became the first mass prevention measure to detect the virus before a person could spread and cause outbreaks of the virus in their workplace, school or home.
However, over time, the COVID tests became something more, the key to gradually coming back to life and, above all, recuperating experiences such as sporting events.
Covid and sport: the silence in stadiums
When COVID-19 was extended in 2020, sporting encounters soon turned into one of the most missed aspects of “normal life”. Then came the training with masks, the matches without public and the silence in the stadiums. A single positive diagnosis of coronavirus can block an entire sports team and its support staff.
But little by little, the situation started to change and appeared as if the required contingencies were in place; it was possible to once again enjoy a reality that brings together so many hearts internationally, such as sport.
It was then that PCR tests became more essential than ever, instead of antigen tests, to detect infections even in people who showed no symptoms.
But, of course, at Unilabs we were not going to give up!
We were there to win
At Unilabs we were ready: we had a vast international network with experience in delivering high-quality COVID-19 tests worldwide, our team of nurses, and agile, cost-effective solutions including drive-thru, walk-thru, mobile lab and couriers options.
We succeeded in ensuring that the Portuguese football league reopened in June, that Slovakian volleyball and beach volleyball teams returned to play safely, making it possible for numerous cycling events to occur in France.
But above all, we became the official laboratory of the Peruvian national football team, accompanying them during all the preliminaries for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. During all matches, the necessary devices were deployed to ensure that players and staff were safe and that any positive cases could be detected in time.
We recovered part of the happiness not only by making each game possible, but Unilabs Peru even organised a draw for tickets among the customers to see their national team play, taking seven of them to live the Palco Unilabs experience.
At Unilabs we want to be at the heart and start of all effective treatment decisions, above all else, being in the hearts of all our customers and employees, as they are the Uniheroes who make it possible for us to be there where we are needed.
