Unlocking efficiencies in prison diagnostics
Almost all Swedish prisons and detention centres healthcare units were sending their diagnostic samples to different labs around Sweden, depending on geographic location. They were unhappy and wanted better structure and electronics results for their medical records.
Unilabs Sweden opened discussions with the prison system's coordinating manager and were able to offer them electronic test results, no matter where they sent their samples from and to. We were also able to offer improved service and regular nurse contact.
Unilabs Sweden then initiated a special project to coordinate all logistics from the various detention centres. It took several months to prepare all nurses and then over 6 months to roll out the logistics. The project has been an enormous success, allowing better quality of care across these institutions.
